THE RIGHT INFORMATION. THE RIGHT HELP.
Freight and commercial pickups
For a tractor, trailer or work truck at an industrial property, include the entrance, gate instructions and whether the pickup is inside a secured yard. For roadside requests, provide direction of travel and a nearby landmark. Nearby Turnpike access does not mean an independent provider can enter the controlled roadway.
Metro coordinates the request through qualified local service providers. Tell us about access restrictions and anything that may affect the job; the provider and equipment must be suitable before service is confirmed.
PLAN YOUR PICKUP
Useful details for service in Elizabeth.
01
Port-area pickup or a city street?
Elizabeth’s marine-terminal area and neighborhood streets need different pickup instructions. For a port-area request, send the terminal or business name, exact gate and an on-site contact. Access must be confirmed with the facility; a nearby provider is not automatically authorized to enter a terminal.
02
Passenger vehicles around North Elizabeth
If your car is in a commuter lot, apartment parking area or at a business, identify the entrance and parking space. Describe a dead battery, locked-in keys, damaged tire or fuel problem before choosing roadside help or a flatbed. Include the receiving shop’s address if a tow is needed.
03
Loaded trucks and freight equipment
For box trucks, tractors and tractor-trailers, provide the unit type, approximate weight and loaded or empty status. Tell us if the tractor can separate from the trailer and whether brakes or wheels are locked. Metro assesses commercial roadside, medium-duty towing or heavy recovery through an appropriate provider.
Metro Auto Rescue coordinates service through qualified independent local providers matched to the vehicle and job. Physical towing and roadside work is performed by those providers.
How much will the service cost?
The quote depends on your location, destination, vehicle, condition, access and equipment needed. You receive the price for the agreed job before you authorize it. If the situation changes, any additional work or price must be discussed before proceeding.
How soon can someone arrive?
Provider availability, traffic, location and equipment affect timing. Ask for the current estimate when calling. A quote request does not guarantee availability or dispatch.
What if I am on the Turnpike or Parkway?
Those roads use authorized assistance. Contact NJTA at 833-875-4243 for the New Jersey Turnpike or 833-477-4243 for the Garden State Parkway. Metro does not claim authorization to dispatch onto those controlled roadways. See NJTA’s roadside guidance.
This site is for consensual, customer-requested towing and roadside help. Metro does not offer private-property impounds or represent itself as a police or municipal towing operator.
